We don't track live outage status. For Quantum Fiber's official word, go straight to Quantum Fiber's official outage page →

Here's what this page can do for a Quantum Fiber outage: hand you the direct link to Quantum Fiber's own support page, walk through a short checklist that tells a router problem apart from a network-wide one, and tell you honestly when a delay is worth escalating. What it can't do is confirm whether Quantum Fiber is actually down at your address — we don't monitor its network, and no outside source sees into it the way the provider does. Use the official link first, then the checklist below if the trouble doesn't clear on its own.
The seven-step outage checklist
- Check the provider's official status page first. Every provider runs its own official support and outage channel — the link at the top of this page goes to the right starting point for it. Sign in if it asks; most check your address or account for known problems in your area. For Quantum Fiber, that's Quantum Fiber's official outage page.
- Power-cycle the modem and router properly. Unplug both from power, wait a full 30 seconds, then plug the modem in first and let it fully connect before powering the router. Most connection problems that aren't outages end here.
- Work out whether it's the WiFi or the line. If you can, plug a laptop directly into the router with an ethernet cable. Internet over the cable but not over WiFi means a WiFi problem, not an outage. Several devices failing at once points at the line.
- Confirm it's the home connection, not the wider internet. Switch your phone off WiFi and load a page over mobile data. If the same sites work on mobile data but nothing works at home, the problem is between your home and your provider.
- Ask a neighbor or check local groups. If a neighbor on the same provider is also down, it's almost certainly an area problem — report it and wait. If they're fine, the issue is more likely your equipment or your line specifically.
- Report it to the provider. Providers prioritize repairs partly by how many reports an area generates. Reporting through the app or support line also creates the paper trail you'll want for the next step.
- Ask for a credit if the outage ran long. Many providers will credit part of your bill for extended outages — policies differ and few advertise it, so you usually have to ask. Mention the dates and how long service was out.
Will it come back on its own?
Most brief service drops, Quantum Fiber included, sort themselves out inside a few minutes as whatever glitch caused them passes — no troubleshooting required. It's reasonable to hold off for fifteen or twenty minutes and try the equipment reset below before treating it as serious. But once Quantum Fiber has been out for two hours or more, or the same address loses service repeatedly on different days, that pattern is worth escalating: log the times it happened and contact Quantum Fiber support instead of continuing to wait it out.
Outages keep coming back?

Frequently asked questions
- Is Quantum Fiber down right now?
- We can't say from this page — nothing here tracks Quantum Fiber's network, and Quantum Fiber alone can confirm what's going on at your address today. Check the support page linked above first, then try a laptop wired straight into your equipment: a clean connection over the cable alongside dropped WiFi usually means the wireless radio, not the incoming service, is at fault.
- Is there a live Quantum Fiber outage map?
- There isn't one on this site, and that's deliberate — an outage map built from crowd-sourced guesses can be confidently wrong, which is worse than no map. What you want is Quantum Fiber's support page, linked above, since it's built to look up your account specifically. Sites that aggregate user complaints can hint that something's going on in your area, but hints aren't the same as Quantum Fiber confirming a network problem.
- Is Quantum Fiber the same company as CenturyLink for outage purposes?
- Quantum Fiber is Lumen's fiber brand and was formerly sold under the CenturyLink name, so the two names can appear on the same bill history. The support link at the top of this page is Quantum Fiber's official starting point; households still on a legacy CenturyLink product should use the support channel named on their own bill.
